Today we will talk about the integration of the Azure Information Protection service and Sharepoint Online, we would like to comment that depending of your subscription to the Azure Information Protection service you will have the capacity of the application of labels and templates in manual or automatic mode. Azure Information Protection is based on 2 subscription models P1 and P2, the main differences between the 2 subscription models is the ability to automate based on rules (regular expression) or type of data that the service proposes. Today we will talk about the possibility that allow the Azure Information Protection subscription P1 (manual mode to apply templates and labels) and the steps necessary for the integration.
We recommend the use of the AIP client in all clients with subscriptions, that is why we recommend using the client during this process.
The first step is to access the Azure Information Protection portal and inside the Global policy, click advanced settings.
Now it is necessary to create two new values to allow the Azure Information Protection service to accept the modification in Sharepoint Online. These values are :
SyncPropertyName: Sensitivity
SyncPropertyState: TwoWay
Image with the values created.
Now it is necessary to configure the integration in Sharepoint Online in order to apply the Azure information Protection tags. For this purpose, within the Sharepoint Online administration console, we access the library with which we want to integrate.
The next step is the creation of the new column with the labels that you want to show available in Sharepoint Online. Remember to create them in the same order as they are in the Azure Information Protection service.
Now when you upload a document in Sharepoint Online you can set the Azure Information Protection tag as property.
